چکیده

Multihomed network is one of the most efficient configuration to improve response time of network services. However, it is hard to introduce or manage because the existing configuration methods have several problems in that they require much technical skill, involve administrative over-burden for the administrator aiid so on. In this paper, we propose a dynamic traffic sharing technique and a suitable backbone selection metrics to address some of these problems. Using the proposed technique, an appropriate backbone can be selected per connection with minimal technical skill and low administrative cost. In addition, the proposed metrics performs more efficient traffic sharing as compared to others techniques that were investigated.

Multimedia Flow Mobility in Heterogeneous Networks Using Multihomed Mobile IPv6

Communication in next generation networks will use multiple access technologies, creating a heterogeneous network environment. To enable end-user terminals to move between access networks with minimal disruption, the terminals should be able to maintain multiple active network connections. Such a multihomed mobile host will experience different capabilities and coverage area depending on the ac...

A Seamless and Transparent MN-Proxy based Mobility Support For (n,n,1) Multihomed NEMO Model

Multihomed Network Mobility is a research field being widely explored because of its importance in military and vehicular applications. Multihoming is a promising solution for providing ubiquitous Internet and some other benefits such as Load-Sharing and Policy-based Routing. Unfortunately, extensions of NEMO Basic Support proposed for the purpose of managing multihomed NEMO are still sub-optim...

An Incentive-Aware Lightweight Secure Data Sharing Scheme for D2D Communication in 5G Cellular Networks

Due to the explosion of smart devices, data traffic over cellular networks has seen an exponential rise in recent years. This increase in mobile data traffic has caused an immediate need for offloading traffic from operators. Device-to-Device(D2D) communication is a promising solution to boost the capacity of cellular networks and alleviate the heavy burden on backhaul links. However, dir...

Dynamic Competitive Resource Sharing in Multimedia Networks

Abstract: In this paper, we develop a methodology for dynamic resource sharing in multimedia networks with competing traffic types. We introduce dynamic queueing models for multimedia traffic types, as well as approximate linearized dynamic queueing models. We formulate the problem as an dynamic non-cooperative Nash game and state the conditions for non-cooperative equilibrium. Finally, we prop...
